Sleep Testing in Tulsa, OK
Are you worried you might be struggling with sleep apnea? Glisten Dental has a board certified sleep physician as the Medical Director of Glisten Dental. Because of this, we are able to help our patients recieve a medical exam and are able to be tested in the comfort of their own bed. Dr. Nauman and her team can guide you to a local sleep center to obtain a diagnosis with an overnight sleep study. A sleep study diagnosed by a sleep physician is the ONLY way to know for sure if you have sleep apnea. The sleep test will collect information about your breathing and look for times when you may have woken up or stopped breathing for 10 or more seconds. It will also record information about your heart rate and snoring. Sleep apnea and snoring often go hand in hand because they share a similar cause: obstruction from the tongue or lower jaw.
Once we have the results of your exam and sleep study, Dr. Nauman can talk to you about your needs and recommend a treatment solution. Mild and moderate sleep apnea can be treated with Oral Appliance Therapy as the first option and severe sleep apnea can be treated with an Oral Appliance if CPAP therapy has failed. If you have questions about snoring, sleep apnea, or treatment with an oral appliance, Dr. Nauman would be happy to answer them. We want you to be equipped to make informed choices about your own care.
